How regularly you clean your stroller is up to you and depends on how often you use it and what you use your stroller for. Some diligent cleaners opt for wiping down their stroller once a week, while others clean their stroller once a month.
However often you choose to clean your stroller is your choice (no judgement here), but parents often struggle with knowing how to do it so they don’t damage it. Here we have provided you with a guide on how to clean your Bugaboo stroller in 7 simple steps.
How to clean your Bugaboo stroller
- Check the labels
- Take off the removable fabrics and the wheels if needed
- Vacuum
- Scrub or machine wash the fabrics
- Wipe down your stroller, including the chassis and wheels

1. Check the labels
Different Bugaboo products may have individual care instructions, so always check them before washing them. Check the fabric or frame for care instructions, or you can always look in the care manual that came with your stroller.
2. Take off the removable fabrics and the wheels
If you’re carrying out a simple spot clean, you can miss the step. It’s perfectly fine to use a damp cloth and mild detergent to rid the pram of everyday dirt and grime from the fabric, wheels and chassis. If you’re unsure of how to remove the fabric, see your care instructions for guidance, but the fabrics are simple enough to remove and put back on.
3. Vacuum
Before doing your deep clean, give it a once over with your vacuum to remove any crumbs and debris.
4. Scrub or machine wash the fabric
Most Bugaboo fabrics are machine washable- parenting win alert! But always check the labels. Always opt for gentle laundry detergent, and never use bleaching agents. Don’t tumble dry, iron or dry clean.
5. Wipe down your stroller
For parts that aren’t machine washable, like the wheels, use warm soapy water and damp clothes to spot clean and scrub using a mild detergent. Don’t forget to clean the basket, frame and sun canopy.
6. Air dry
Always allocate enough time between washing and the next use to allow for air drying.
7. Reassemble
Reassemble everything from the wheels to the bumper bar, canopy and fabrics; then you’re good to go on another adventure with your little explorer in a fresh and clean stroller… until next time!
