If your tot is already in need of an upgrade – group 0+/1 is their next stop. Often known as combination seats, they’re suitable from when they’re a teeny tiny newborn to 4 years old. They normally have padding which can be changed and removed, and use either a 5-point harness or impact shield. In this category, children can make the move to forward-facing. However, for safety purposes, we recommend keeping them rear-facing for as long as possible. Or at least until they’re 13kg/15 months old.
Don’t forget – if you do go for a forward-facing car seat, make sure it’s level or up to 2cm above the shoulders!
